TIP mourns the loss of Senator Frank Lautenberg, the last World War II veteran serving in the United States Senate and an exemplary public servant.
Throughout his three decades on Capitol Hill, Senator Lautenberg was a staunch ally of freedom and a champion of the special relationship between the United States and Israel.
Senator Lautenberg fought and won many of the battles that today we take for granted. Among the countless issues where he left a permanent legacy, Senator Lautenberg was at the center of efforts to ensure American taxpayer funds were never used to provide foreign aid to state sponsors of terrorism.
His work will endure for generations and he will be missed by all who appreciated his decades of service to our country and to strengthening the US-Israel relationship.
